The glass fragments in this jewellery originate from ancient blown glass
vessels of the Roman-Byzantine empire, dating from the 1st to the 6th
century A.D.-shortly after glass-making was invented. The glittering
fragments were gathered from ancient sites in the Holy Land.

Over generations, layer upon layer of earth covered the glass, giving it its
unique patina. Some of the fragments are transparent while others are
opaque. The beautiful glass colours were formed over hundreds of years,
resulting from the combined effects of climatic conditions and the
surrounding earth in which the fragments were embedded. Although the
glass fragments do not break easily and are solidly set in and protected by
a custom made bezel, we advise that they be handled with care.

We create an original design in silver or gold (or both) for every piece of
glass and we hand make the jewellery in our workshop on the premises.
Because no glass fragment repeats itself in shape or colour, each piece of
jewellery is one of a kind.
